OnSite Resources CEO Addresses Women in Technology
Margot King kicks off WIT’s Vital Leadership Series, January 9th at Maggiano’s Buckhead
December 17, 2007 — ATLANTA, GA – Margot King, Founder and CEO of OnSite Resource Solutions, noted author and radio personality begins WIT’s 2008 breakfast meetings at 7:30 AM, Wednesday, January 9th with, “Becoming an Employment Destination”. The topic is vitally important to technology companies and departments as the difference between stellar performance and lackluster results is directly related to the level of talent they can attract. King will bring the message that getting the right people for your team is too important to relegate to one function. Rather, she believes everyone has a stake and must play a role in building a thriving business.
“Smart companies are mobilizing their entire organization to make sure that they are finding and keeping the right people. If you think about it, nothing is more critical, whether you are leading a team or are a member of one. The caliber of the people in your group directly affects your productivity and success, not to mention how satisfied you are in your job,” commented King. “Organizations are finding they need to position themselves, not just for customers and prospects, but for prospective employees as well. And they’ve realized that everyone in the company conveys the positioning through both formal business transactions and casual conversations. That means everyone has to be involved to make ‘employment branding’ work,” she continued.
Whether you are with a large corporation pressing for top talent, or a start up organization looking for creative ideas to attract people to follow your dreams, King’s innovative steps can be your blueprint for getting results. She will cover the same tips and techniques she has provided her national client base of Fortune 1000 companies to help them meet their objectives.
“WIT meetings provide an opportunity for men and women in the technology industry to learn about important topics and hear from thought leaders,” Tamara Lopata, WIT Program Manager for Meetings explained. “Deloitte’s most recent survey of technology CEOs found that attracting the right talent for their companies outweighed profitability as their biggest concern. If CEOs are worried about it, we knew it was a topic that would interest everyone in the industry, from C-level to individual contributors. Margot’s ability to take an issue that used to be thought of as HR’s problem only and show how it applies to everyone provides us all with something to think about,” she continued.
In addition to addressing the meeting, King will be signing copies of McGraw Hill’s latest addition to their Perfect Phrases series, “Perfect Phrases for Perfect Hiring”, which she coauthored along with Lori Davila. Those interested in attending should register soon as WIT meetings often sell out.
